Introduction
*) This event is free of charge for graduate students (Ind.: Mahasiswa Pascasarjana)
Increasing
population growth and
rapid use of
bio-resources lead to
decreasing of natural
capital. The natural
ecosystem has been
changed into man-made
ecosystem such as
agriculture, forestry,
urban system and other
land use activities.
Biodiversity as a
component of natural
capital is always
affected by the
activities. Consequently
this condition affect
the ecosystem health.
The ecosystem health
including bio-physical
and socioeconomic
aspects should be
improved to support the
living of all organism
on earth. Several
concept and theory has
proposed and develop for
biodiversity
conservation and
ecosystem health,
however the unique
character of tropical
ecosystem still need to
be explored and
developed in order to
regain the health of
earth ecosystem.
In this session we
invite researcher,
lecturer, students,
practitioner and other
stakeholders to
participate in this
conference entitled
“Biodiversity and
ecosystem health in a
changing world” in
Bandung. We believe this
activity will contribute
to the goal of
sustainable development.
