Abstract

Wening RH, Susanto U. 2015. Evaluation tolerance of rice germplasm againts low temperature on upland agroecosystem. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1 (1): 155-161. This study aims to evaluate the germplasm collection of BB Padi of Sukamandi, West Java against low-temperature stress in upland agroecosystem for the tolerant genotype. The experiment was conducted in Sikumpul, Kalibening (1100 m asl.) on the DS 2010. A total of 86 accessions of rice germplasm collection of BB Padi was examined with control varieties Sarinah, Barito, Tejo, Ciherang and IR 64. The experiment was set based on augmented block design (4 blocks) with experimental plots measuring 1 x 2.5 m2. Seeds were planted directly (seeded) at a spacing of 20 x 20 cm with 1 seed per hole on upland agroecosystem. The results showed that the accession Cere Beureum, RUTTST858B-5-2-2-2-0-J and Padi Gunung / Huma indicated tolerance to low-temperature stress because its flower matures early and is equal to Tejo which indicates not escape from the stress low temperatures. Cere Manggu, Ringgit, and Bereum Tomang are adaptive in the highlands because of their characters (grain weight per hill, grain content per panicle, panicle fertility, fertility scores panicle, and panicle exertion) value better than the best check Tejo. Ase Andele, Kantong and Randa Kaya can also be said adaptive in the highlands because their yield components value better than the best check Tejo does.
