The growing public expectation to BPTP regarding recommended location-specific technology demands careful examination on how dissemination should be done. It is expected that it could help formulating innovative efforts in implementing assistance program Agency for Agricultural Technology AssesmentEast Kalimantan, thus the target of food self-sufficiency can be achieved. The objective of this study was to obtain data on the implementation of integrated rice crop management. The study was conducted from January-December 2013 in Kutai Kartanegara and Penajam Paser Utara, where integrated crop management was implemented from 2010 and was a central rice production in East Kalimantan. Data collection was done by purposive sampling methods. The result shows that (i) integrated rice crop management could increase productivity which supports food self-sufficiency, (ii) VUB rice was introduced and planting pattern has been begun by farmers.
