Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 438-443. Shrimps are a member of the subphylum Crustacea that can be found in all habitats, both freshwater, brackish water, and saltwater. Shrimps are one of the superior food commodities with a high protein source and favored for cultivation. The species of shrimps in Yogyakarta is less attention and information about shrimp diversity in the Baros lagoon, Bantul, Yogyakarta is not yet available. Therefore conducted research with the aim to determine the diversity of shrimps in the Baros lagoon. In this study, we used three research stations, each station had a ± 500 m long line transect. Sampling was done during the day and night. The sampling method was using a convenience sampling technique. From the research was found five species of shrimps from two families, namely Penaeidae and Palaemonidae. Palaemonidae consists of Macrobrachium latidactylus and M. equidens. Penaeidae consists of Penaeus monodon, Penaeus (melicertus) canaliculatus, and Metapenaeus elegans.
