Exploration and research flora in the protected forest of Mount Talamau, West Sumatera and Mount Sibuatan, North Sumatera was conducted on May 19 to June 6, 2014. The aim of this exploration is to documenting the diversity of the local flora highland and collect live specimens and herbarium collections in order to enrich a collection of Cibodas Botanic Garden (KRC). The survey method was conducted to collect the living specimen. Exploration team managed to collect live specimens collection number 431 with an estimated 34.33% KRC new collection, as well as 45 numbers herbarium of two locations Gunung Sibuatan, North Sumatra, and Gunung Talamau, West Sumatra. Obtaining the highest rate distribution among other Lauraceae, Orchidaeae, Rubiaceae, and Annonaceae. Some plant species inventoried has potential as ornamental plants, medicinal plants, and crops. Also found rare plants on the IUCN Red List, which Symplocos canescens B. Stahl (Vulnerable B1ab (iii) Ver 3.1), and Nepenthes spectabilis Danser (Vulnerable D2 Ver.2.3).
