Abstract

The Araceae Family, which includes of 105-110 genus and 2500-3700 species are commonly found in the tropical area. Around 31 genera or 25% total genera of Araceae in the world is existed in Indonesia, which are scattered in Sumatera, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. Botanical garden named "Eka Karya" in Bali is one of the ex-situ conservation intuitions in Indonesia which conserves many species of Araceae. After being explored, samples of different species of Araceae were collected from Mount Seraya (Lempuyang) in Karangasem and planted in Bali botanical garden. Nine species of Araceae were found, such as Aglaonema simplex (Blume) Blume, Alocasia alba Schott, Amorphophallus muelleri Blume, Colocasia gigantea (Blume) Hook.f., Epipremnum pinnatum (L.) Engl., Homalomena sp., Rhaphidophora sylvestris (Blume) Engl., Schismatoglottis sp., and Scindapsus sp. No new species was found in this investigation. However, some species showed a high variation that needs to be studied more intensively in future.
