Abstract
Broto BW. 2015. The vegetation structure and composition of Anoa (Bubalus spp.) habitat in Mekongga Mountains Protected Forest, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 615-620. Anoa (Bubalus spp.) is one of endemic mammal in Sulawesi. This species has been stated as conservation priority species in Indonesia. Hunting and habitat loss are the main threats for anoa preservation. This research aims to study the structure and composition of vegetation anoa’s habitats in Mekongga Mountains Protected Forest. The study was conducted in two complexes of forest that were Salodong and Leang Paniki with 3 transects in the each forest complex. Moreover, the descriptive quantitative approach was used to analyze the data by calculating the value of IVI (INP) and Shannon index to determine the types of dominant and stability of the community. This research recorded 27 species of cover crops and 52 species of trees down. In addition, it was identified that the dominant of cover crop and tree were katilaporo 1 (Elatostema ingriflorum) and jambu-jambu (Acronychia padunculata) respectively. The measurements of physical and biotic factors were observed that the location is appropriate for the habitat of anoa.
