Abstract

Saripudin E, Putra ETS. 2015. Midrib and flower phenology emergence of two genotypes of oil palm in Sumatera and Kalimantan. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 621-628. The emergence of the frond is a phenomenon that supports the growth and development of oil palm plantations. The phenomenon is the interaction between genetic and environmental and nature influenced. The study of the emergence of plant components that are affected by environmental conditions is called phenology. Differences in location and changes in climate can cause differences when the midrib and flowers appear, genetic differences allegedly different in eliciting response fronds and flowers. The aim of this research is to determine differences in the emergence phenology midrib, flowers female and male flowers, from two oil palm genotypes grown at two different locations for two different years. This research makes use of secondary data collected in 2009-2013 from PT SMARTRI, Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Plant genotypes studied consisted of P63 and P83 aged 20 to 21 years, which is grown in the experimental field Kandista, Riau province and Batumulia, South Kalimantan Province. Statistical analysis was used was factor analysis to variable climatic elements, analysis of variance nested design to variable phenology, and stepwise regression analysis to find the effects of climatic elements on phenological events at each location. The results show that the climate of the location Kandista divided into three components, while at the location Batumulia consists of two components. Occurrences midrib and male flowers can be distinguished based on location, while the emergence of female flowers can not be distinguished by covariance were studied. Climate elements can be used to predict the incidence of either oil palm plant phenology in Kandista and in Batumulia, so it can be used in the modeling phenology at two locations that were studied.
