Abstract

Zulkarnaen RN, Wardani FF, Rivai RR. 2015. Seedling characteristics of Anchomanes difformis. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 824-827. Anchomanes difformis (Blume) Endl. is one of the plant that belongs to the Araceae family. Anchomanes difformis have distinct characteristics during its growth. The seedling leaves will divide into three parts. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the media and seed treatment affected the development of seedlings of A. difformis. There were four planting media that we used consisted of sand, cocopeat, moss and sawdust. Seed treatment given shelled seeds and seeds that are not peeled. The design of the experiments in this study was a completely randomized design factorial with eight treatments and three replications in each experimental unit. Variable observation in this experiment was the amount of cut leaf, hypocotyl length, epicotyl length and number of new shoots. Based on the data obtained, the study showed that the media and seed treatment did not significantly affect the number of leaves that cut, hypocotyl length and number of shoots of A. difformis (ANOVA α=5%). Meanwhile, the epicotyl length was influenced by the medium that used in nurseries (ANOVA α=5%).
