Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 868-873. The use of resistant varieties in controlling brown planthopper is the ideal way because it is easy to use, inexpensive and environmentally friendly. However, the resistance can be broken due to the indiscriminate use of insecticides. The purpose of this research was to assess various new varieties against brown planthopper and wetland rice production in Garut, West Java. The research was conducted in the Village of Jangkurang, Leles Sub-district, Garut District, West Java at an altitude of 800 m asl. from March to August 2013. The research was conducted by a Randomized Completed Block Design with five treatments and five replications varieties with farmers as replications. Treatment varieties tested were Inpari 4, Inpari 13, Mekongga, Ciherang and Sarinah. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and if it was significantly different, the test will be continued by an orthogonal contras test and a correlation test at P​
