Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 1420-1424. Research on ethnoveterinary pharmacology has been conducted in Pasir Biru Village, Sub-District of Rancakalong, District of Sumedang, West Java. This aims of this study were to explore local knowledge of various ruminant livestock diseases in the Pasir Biru community, herbal plant as medicine, and how the local knowledge of ethnoveterinary pharmacology gained. This study used qualitative and quantitative methods. The results showed that there were 14 diseases of ruminants which was commonly known by the Pasir Biru community; there were 46 species of herbal plants to cure diseases ruminants were usually planted in the home yard and gardens of the Pasir Biru community; and in general, the local knowledge of ethnoveterinary pharmacology gained through parental learning (44.32%), asking other people (21.59%), individual learning (19.32%), reading from variety of sources (11.36%), and other sources (3.41%).
