Abstract

Putri MHO, Kasmara H, Melanie. 2015. The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo, 1912) as a biological control agent of Aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1762). Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 1472-1477. The study about the effect of entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana against to Aedes aegypti mosquito had been conducted. The research was to find out the LC50 of B. bassiana as biological control agent that caused mortality of Ae. aegypti imago and larvae. The research used experimental methods in the laboratory with bioassay method. The larvae and imago of Ae. aegypti was infected by spores suspension of B. bassiana in seven concentration level, i.e., 0 spores/mL (control); 10-1; 10-2; 10-3; 10-4; 10-5; 10-6. The parameters observed were mortality of Ae. aegypti larvae and imago in 24 and 48 hours after treatment. The results showed that LC50 value 24 hours and 48 hours of B. bassiana fungal spores concentration that causes mortality of Ae. aegypti were 49×109spores/mL and 19,0 × 108 spores/mL, while LC50 value 24 hours and 48 hours in imago of Ae. aegypti were 1,07 × 107 spores/mL and 1,49 × 105 spores/mL.
