Abstract
Nadhifah A, Zakiyyah K, Noviady I. 2017. Diversity of epiphytic moss in genus Cupressus at Cibodas Botanic Gardens, West Java. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 3: 396-400. Moss serves as a pioneer organism and is a part of biodiversity that has not received much attention. Cibodas Botanic Gardens (CBG) is one of the work units of Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) which is one of duties and functions as an ex situ conservation institution of wetland plant. The diversity of epiphytic moss, especially the member of Cupressus genus, at CBG has not been reported. This study aimed to determine the diversity of epiphytic moss from the genus of Cupressus in CBG and to provide the additional data and information on the diversity of mosses at CBG. The method used in this research was purposive sampling with the location of sampling at Cupressus spp. tree. in vak IIIF. The sampling of moss started from the base of stem to the height of 1.3 meters (dbh). The type of moss identified was then analyzed descriptively and compared with previous epiphytic moss studies, especially on Gymnospermae. The results showed there were 11 species of epiphytic moss of 10 genera and 7 families. The life form of moss found in this study included mats, pendant, fans, short turfs, and dendroid. The most common species of Lejeuneaceae family included Lejeunea mimula Hürl., Lejeunea patersonii (Stephani.) Stephani., Lopholejeunea wiltensii Stephani., and Ptychanthus striatus (Lehm. & Lindenb.) Nees.
